Last year CCGrass became a proud official sponsor for Hockey for Heroes, raising funds for the charity Help for Heroes.

Help for Heroes provides lifelong support for Service Personnel and Military Veterans with injuries or illnesses which were sustained whilst serving in the British Armed Forces. Hockey for Heroes uses hockey as their chosen sport to take action in memory of those who have fallen whilst serving for their country.

“We began our fundraising efforts in 2012 and since then, Hockey for Heroes has used our collective hockey playing expertise and passion for the sport to make a real difference.” Joel Forrester, Hockey for Heroes CEO.

Hockey for Heroes has taken part in many different Sports Recovery events, along with 49 other sports, adapting each sport to enable over 2000 wounded and sick veterans to take part. These types of events are only made possible through donations and support of this amazing charity.

In 2019 CCGrass decided to sponsor Hockey for Heroes, as a way of showing support for the great sport and for such an impactful charity. CCGrass’s CEO of the European office, Bryn Lee, adds, “For a company like CCGrass it’s great to be connected to such a worthy sport”.

During these unsettling times Hockey for Heroes has begun a ‘Hockey at Home’ series, which is uploaded weekly onto their Facebook page.

Hockey experts are creating family friendly videos, with:

• Practical advice for coaches
• Advice for aspiring coaches
• Training skills for players
• “Speciality mastery” for Goalkeepers
• Exercises to strengthen and improve hockey fitness
• Discussion, history and opinions for general hockey fans
